Form-fitting dancewear (e.g. leotards, tights, jazz pant, etc.) is highly recommended for class. This allows instructors to improve a dancer’s technique easily. And it creates a focused, fun environment for learning. Lake Area Dance Center offers a selection of dancewear for purchase; however, we do not require dancewear be purchased from the studio. Denim is discouraged.

• Tots: Pink ballets
• Preschool: White taps, pink ballets
• Kindergarten: White taps, pink ballets
• Kindergarten/1st: White taps, pink ballets
• 1st/2nd: Tan taps, pink ballets
• 3rd/5th: Tan taps, pink ballets, tan jazz
• 6th/8th: Tan taps, pink ballets, tan jazz
• 8th/12th: Black taps, tan jazz
• Teen Lyrical: Pirouettes
• Boys: Black taps, black ballet or jazz
• Hip-Hop: Clean street shoe
